Award winning documentary filmmaker Mimi Machado-Luces, sends Amor y Ache (Love & Luck) to Alex Cuba on his recent GRAMMY nomination for Best Latin Pop Album. “Alex is an amazing singer songwriter, from his 1st incredible release; Humo De Tobacco to the triumph that is Agua De Pozo & his latest smash self titled Alex Cuba, his star is in the stratosphere and that path is paved with success, just like the incredible music he creates!”
Machado-Luces is currently in production of her documentary film, La Vida In Black. Alex Cuba shared insights about his music, the signature Afro and other adventures while on his North American tour with Miriam for the film. Machado-Luces is collaborating with Alex on La Vida In Black’s musical score. “From the moment I heard his music, I wanted him to score my films; the added fact that the Alex Cuba’s brand and style fit perfectly with this particular film’s theme is destiny and I’m honored to have Alex appear in the film.”
Using the richly woven tapestry of the African Diaspora’s history, music and culture; La Vida In Black exposes, explores and honors what life is truly like as a black person in the Americas.
